Am I eligible for hormone therapy?

During your initial consultation visit, we will complete an in-depth review of your medical history and determine what options may be available to you based on clinical guidelines and your specific symptoms.

In some situations, hormone therapy may not be safe or appropriate. These include; undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, acute liver dysfunction, estrogen-dependent cancer (breast, ovarian, endometrial), cardiovascular disease, stroke, blood clotting disease. Current guidelines recommend that hormone therapy can safely be initiated in healthy women who are less than 60 years of age or less than 10 years since menopause.

Individual relative risks will be explored. Non-hormonal options will be reviewed if hormone therapy is not the right fit for you.

Do you offer virtual care visits for BC residents?

Yes, our patient visits are only virtual-based appointments, through a secure electronic medical platform. We offer services to residents of British Columbia.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

We’re here to help you start feeling better - quickly and sustainably. Our goal is to initiate care within days, not months, and to provide consistent follow-up until your symptoms are well-managed and stable. No long waitlists, no rushed visits - just personalized support when you need it most.

Do I still need a primary care provider?

Yes. This clinic does not replace the care provided by your primary care provider i.e family doctor or nurse practitioner. We encourage all patients to maintain regular follow-up with their primary care provider or visit a walk-in clinic for any health concerns outside the scope of our services.

Is your clinic covered through insurance?

You may be eligible for reimbursement through your insurance Health Spending Account (HSA). Alternatively, health visits could be considered as a tax-deductible medical expense. Please confirm with your individual insurance plan and tax eligibility. Any required blood work, imaging and referrals are typically covered through the provincial healthcare plan.

How many visits will I need?

Every woman’s journey is different.

Patients start with an initial comprehensive consultation, followed by approximately 1-2 initial follow-up visits over the first few months to adjust treatment and monitor progress.

We will continue regular check-ins until your symptoms are well-managed.

Annual visits align with guidelines to review symptoms and health changes, update your treatment plan or renew prescriptions, and ensure your hormone care remains effective and aligned with your goals.
